Terms of Service

Last updated: May 27, 2026

The short version: TariffIQ gives you AI-generated tariff analysis to help you think clearly about your duty exposure. It is not a substitute for a licensed customs broker, and you remain responsible for your own customs filings and compliance. Full terms below.

1. Agreement

By using TariffIQ (gettariffiq.com), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We may update these terms; the current version is always at gettariffiq.com/terms.

2. What TariffIQ is

TariffIQ is an AI-powered tool that takes a product description, country of origin, and import value, and returns:

Important: TariffIQ is a decision-support tool, not a customs compliance service. The AI's outputs are estimates. For binding HTS classifications, formal duty calculations, or any high-stakes customs decision, you should consult a licensed customs broker or trade attorney.

3. Your responsibilities

When you use TariffIQ, you agree to:

4. Accounts and subscriptions

The free tier provides limited analysis without an account. The Pro tier ($29/month) requires a subscription via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

We offer a 7-day free trial on Pro. If you don't cancel during the trial, you'll be charged for the first month at the end of the trial period.

5. Refunds

Because Pro is billed monthly and you can cancel at any time, we generally don't issue refunds for partial months. If something is genuinely broken or you were charged in error, email byronwalk3r@gmail.com and we'll make it right.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

TariffIQ is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI outputs will be accurate, complete, or current.

Tariff policy changes frequently and AI models have knowledge cutoffs. The information TariffIQ provides may be out of date, especially during periods of rapid policy change. You are responsible for verifying current rates before making business decisions.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TariffIQ and Byron Walker (the operator) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, lost business, customs penalties, misclassification fines, or supply chain disruptions — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of TariffIQ is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TariffIQ and its operator from any claim arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your use of TariffIQ's outputs in your business operations.

9. Intellectual property

The TariffIQ service, design, and code are owned by Byron Walker. Your inputs (product descriptions, etc.) remain yours; your outputs (the analysis we return) are yours to use in your business.

10. Termination

You can stop using TariffIQ at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or attempt to evade rate limits or payment.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Smith County, Texas.
